Maria Antonieta Correia Farias Jordan, age 76, of Fall River, Ma., passed away peacefully on March 20th, 2017 at 7:18 am in her home holding her husband's hand and surrounded by her loving family after suffering from a long illness. She was born on March 16,1941 in the village of Ajuda da Bretanha, Sao Miguel, Acores. Daughter of the late Antonieta Diogo Correia and Manuel "Bento" de Sousa Farias. She immigrated to the United States in 1964, after meeting and falling in love with David P. Jordan, her devoted husband of 52 years. A devoted Catholic, she stressed the importance of prayer to her family. Maria enjoyed cooking, sewing, and traveling extensively to such places as Egypt, Israel, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Poland. But her true passion was her family, particularly her grandchildren. She was the wonderful mother of David, Michael, Patrick and Lisa Jordan, and the doting grandmother of Patrick David, Cassandra, Caitlyn, David, Jonathan and Zachariah. She also leaves four great-grandchildren, Cole, Michael, Leah and Ariana. She was the oldest sister of Alda Cabral, Antone Farias and Adelino Farias. She touched the hearts and lives of Jon Travers, Dennis Donoghue, Michael Connors, Chad McAlister, Lisa Costa and Monica Steadman. She leaves behind many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. She was also the sister of the late Jose C. Farias. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, March 25th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in her memory be made to the Alzheimer's Association, so we can support research, care services and ultimately find a cure that will allow our loved ones to live in dignity, and no longer in fear. http://www.alz.org
