Maria L. Almeida, 69, of Fall River, wife of Jose Almeida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Country Gardens Nursing Home in Swansea, following a long illness. Born in Sao Pedro, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Jose V. Pereira and the late Maria da Conceicao (Leonardo) Pereira.

Prior to her retirement she worked for Anderson Little as a trimmer for many years. She loved cooking, swimming in the pool, and traveling to such places as New Hampshire, Canada, and St. Michael. Most importantly, she valued the quality time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Besides her devoted husband of fifty-one years, she leaves her loving children, Douglas Almeida, Laura Jones and her husband, William, and Joseph Almeida, all of Fall River; her cherished grandchildren, Ashlyn and Ayden; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Maria Sousa and the late Maria Marques.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, February 22nd, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery both in Fall River.
