Maria L. Melo, 83, passed away on Tuesday. She was the widow of Antonio P. Melo. Born in Ribeirinha, Terceira, daughter of the late Manuel & Francisca (Vieira) Raposo. Maria is survived by her granddaughters, Susan Strollo and Sandra Boucher, both of Fall River; a sister, Almerinda Smith of Assonet; grandchildren, Dylan, Abbey, Emersyn and Kamryn; and several nieces and nephews. She was also mother of the late Durvalina Santos and sister of the late Maria I. Raposo. Her funeral Mass was celebrated at Espirito Santo Church. She was laid to rest at Notre Dame Cemetery. The family is accepting donations to help with Maria's services.
