Obituary

Maria L. Raposo, 88, 0f Fall River, wife of the late Jose Raposo, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 2, 2022, at St. Anne's Hospital following a long illness. Born in Ribeira Grande, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Jacinto Pedro De Medeiros and the late Almerinda De Jesus (Torres) Medeiros.

Prior to her retirement she worked in the local textile industry for many years. She loved cooking, baking, gardening, going on cruises, and traveling back to her homeland in the Azores. She also enjoyed taking care of her two precious canaries. Most importantly, Maria was a devout Catholic, prayed the rosary daily, and cherished the time she spent with all of her family.

She leaves her loving children, Margarida Sousa of St. Michael, Azores, Maria Estella Matos of Canada, Maria G. Sousa, Mario G. Raposo, Jose Denis Raposo, Mariano Jacinto Raposo, Pedro M. Raposo, Ilda P. Neto, Fatima DaSilva, and Joao M. Raposo, all of Fall River. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, September 7th, in Santo Christo Church followed by her committal and entombment at the Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum.
