Obituary

Maria G. Lourenco, 74, of Fall River, wife of Antonio C. Lourenco, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 in the comforts of her home following a long illness. Born in Santo Antonio Alem Capelas, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Jose Jacinto Medeiros and the late Maria Jose Medeiros.

Prior to her retirement she worked as a sewing machine operator in the local textile industry for many years. She loved cooking, taking care of her house plants, and very much enjoyed music and singing. Most notably, Maria held family to be of the utmost importance and relished spending quality time with all of them.

Besides her loving husband, she leaves her three sons, Antonio F. Lourenco and his companion, Dorvalina Melo, Peter Lourenco and his long-time companion, Rebecca Nolan, and Roy P. Lourenco and his wife, Michelle L. Lourenco, all of Fall River; her five grandchildren, Brianna Lourenco, Caitlin Lourenco, Kylie Lourenco, Sophia Lourenco, and Sydney Lourenco; her sisters, Maria Helena Lopes of Fall River and Maria Eduarda Chaves and Maria Olinda Sousa, both of the Azores; her three brothers, Joao Medeiros, Antonio Medeiros, and Gabriel Medeiros, all of the Azores; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Jose Medeiros.

Her Funeral Service was on Sunday, February 25th, during a visitation period in our Fall River Chapel followed later by a private cremation.
