Maria M. Cordeiro, 82, of Fall River, passed away Wednesday. She was the widow of Jose "Louro" Cordeiro. Born in Feteiras do Sul, St. Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Manuel & Maria (Da Gloria) Machado. A Fall River resident for 32 years, she greatly enjoyed making crafts. Survivors include sons, Jose Carlos Cordeiro, Luis Cordeiro, Duarte Cordeiro and Victor Cordeiro; daughters, Eugenia C. Pereira, Leonor da Rocha, Ana Tavares, Lucy Campos, Maria Luisa Ponte and Anabela Camara; a brother, John Machado; sisters, Maria Jose Medeiros and Ilda Furtado; 22 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also mother of the late Joao Cordeiro. On Saturday, friends and family gathered at Luso American Pentecostal Church for a funeral service. After the service, pallbearers brought Maria to her final resting place in Oak Grove Cemetery.
