Maria M. Lopes, 77, of Fall River, wife of Tiberio Lopes, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at St. Anne's Hospital, of natural causes. Born in Praia Do Norte, Faial, Azores, daughter of the late Jose Medeiros and the late Maria Garcia (Gomes) Medeiros, she emigrated to Fall River in 1958.

She was employed for many years in the local textile industry, working at the former Shelburne Shirt then at the former Fall River Knitting Mills where she retired from. She and her husband liked to travel and enjoyed gathering with friends and family.

Besides her husband, of 59 years, she was sister to the late Francisco Medeiros formerly of Seekonk, MA and Manuel Medeiros formerly of Lincoln, RI and she is survived by a brother, Al Medeiros of East Providence, RI, and many godchildren.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, February 18th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her private committal and entombment at the Notre Dame Mausoleum.
