Maria M. Pimentel, 80, of Fall River, widow of Raimundo B. Pimentel, passed away at Catholic Memorial Home on December 9, 2022. Born in St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late Joao & Maria (Tavares) Benevides, she emigrated to Fall River in 1986.

A seamstress in the local garment industry for many years prior to her retirement, she had worked at the former Whaling Manufacturing. Maria loved going on long rides and spending time with family.

She is survived by: two children, Saulina C. Vasconcelos of St. Michael, Azores, and Luis M. Vasconcelos (fiancée Jo-Anne Gorman) of Cranston, R.I.; many siblings, most of whom live in the Azores; three grandchildren, Marina Botelho, Derek Vasconcelos, and Christopher Vasconcelos; four great grandchildren, Ava, Kadyn, Autumn, and Landon; and many nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, December 13th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
