Maria C. Marcos, 91, of Fall River, died Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Catholic Memorial Home. She was the widow of Jose P. Marcos. Born in Santa Barbara, Ribeira Grande, St. Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Jose & Maria J. (Medeiros) Silva, she emigrated to Fall River in 1977. For many years was employed in the local textile industry, including at Laura Curtain, retiring in 1989. She is survived by: 5 children, Jose Marcos (wife Dora) of Somerset, Antonio Marcos (wife Maria) of Swansea, Mary Lou Gomes of Fall River, Herminia Sousa (husband Domingos) of Brampton, Canada, and Maria Jose Correia (husband Jose) also of Brampton; 2 siblings, Louie Silva of Bristol and Teresa Pereira of Canada; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews. She was also sister of the late Jose, Antonio, Jacinto, Joao & Ermalinda Silva. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, July 17, in St Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
