Maria "Marralha" Arruda, 84, of Fall River, passed away Sunday, June 12, at Sarah Brayton Nursing Center. Widow of Guilherme J. Arruda. Born in Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (da Estrela) Alves Raposo. She worked at the former Quaker Fabrics for many years. Loving mother of Manuel (wife-Maria da Lurdes) and Jose Arruda (wife-Margarida); grandmother of Alex, Matthew and Karyn Arruda; sister of the late Joao and Manuel Raposo, Maria Almeida and Amelia Farias. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. On Tuesday, June 14, friends and family gathered at the Silva-Faria Funeral Home before departing for a Funeral Mass at Espirito Santo Church. Following the service, pallbearers Alex Arruda, Victor Ponte, Derek DeSousa, Victor Martins, John Farias, Jose Raposo, Jose Farias, and Jack Fernandes, brought Maria to her final resting place in St. Patrick Cemetery.
