Maria L. Matos, 73, of 53 Cherry St., passed away November 26, 2008 unexpectedly. Widow of Angelo Matos. Born in Mosteiros, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Antone and Luisa Elena (Arruda) Raposo. She had worked for many years at the former Woodland Mfg. Co. She was the mother of Leoberta Matos, Jose Carlos Matos, Clara Raposo, Emanuel Matos and the late Luisa Raposo and Jose Manuel Matos. Sister of Cecilia Garcia and the late Jose, Luis, Antonio, Manuel and Alberto Raposo. She also leaves 18 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Her funeral Mass was celebrated in Santo Christo Church. Pallbearers Derick Cory, Brandon and Justin Matos, Nathan Raposo and John Cory brought Maria to her final resting place at Notre Dame Cemetery.
