Maria F. Melo, 91, of Fall River, wife of the late Joaquim Melo, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2023 at St. Anne's Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Carcavelos, Lisbon, Portugal, she was a daughter of the late Manuel Pereira Marques and the late Maria das Dores (Vieira) Marques.

Prior to her retirement she worked as a presser in the local textile industry for many years. She loved cooking, knitting, and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed attending the services at her church, going on cruises, and traveling to such places as New Hampshire, Florida, South Carloina, and Virginia. But what was most important to Maria was spending quality time with all her family.

She leaves her loving son, Joao Melo and his wife, Mary Cordeiro, of Fall River and her four grandchildren, Ruben Melo, Igor Melo, Ivan Melo, and Logan Melo.

Her funeral arrangements were private.
