Maria de Melo Pavao, 91, of Fall River, passed away Thursday. Widow of Manuel Couto Pavao. Born in Joao Bom, Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (de Melo) Pereira Arruda. She was mother of Gabriela Pereira (husband – Humberto), Carlos Pavao (wife – Herminia), Duarte Pavao (wife – Lourdes), Margarida Pimentel (husband – Leonel) and Anna Santos (husband – Joao); sister of Angelina Pereira. She also leaves 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also grandmother of the late Melissa Pimentel. Her funeral Mass was celebrated in Espirito Santo Church. Pallbearers Paul Pavao, Jason Pimentel, Shaun and Andrew Santos, Christopher Sousa and Derek Rego brought Maria to her final resting place at St. Patrick Cemetery.
