Obituary

Maria F. Moreira, 92, of Fall River, beloved wife of the late Jose V. Moreira, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bretanha, São Miguel, Azores, Maria was a remarkable woman whose life was defined by her deep faith and commitment to her family.
A devoted parishioner of Espirito Santo Church, Maria was actively involved in the Irmas do Rosario and the Irmandade de Nossa Senhora da Ajuda Bretanha. Her days were often spent in prayer, whether she was praying the rosary or watching her favorite religious programs, demonstrating her unwavering devotion.
Maria's greatest joy came from her family. She cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always welcoming them with open arms and a warm smile. Her love and kindness will be remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.
Maria was the loving mother to the late Maria Oliveira (husband Manuel of Ajuda da Bretanha), Antonio Moreira (wife Eduarda) of Warren RI, Jose Moreira (wife Odette) of Fall River, Leonardo Moreira (wife Lurdes) of Somerset, John Moreira (wife Ana) of Fall River, Manuel Moreira (wife Conceicao) of Fall River, George Moreira (wife Natalie) of Westport, Bento Moreira (wife Brenda) of Bristol RI and Sandra Moreira of Fall River.

She leaves behind a legacy of 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren (soon to be 16), who will carry on her faith and love by honoring her strong family traditions. Maria had a strong bond with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, spending time and sharing her famous recipes along with love and laughs.

We will carry her memory in our hearts forever. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, May 7th in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
