Maria N. Almeida, 82, of Somerset, wife of Miguel M. Almeida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Charlton Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Capelas, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel DaCosta Silva and the late Eva Silva (Conar) DaCosta Silva.

An avid New England Patriots fan, she also enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, and traveling to such places as Portugal, Florida, and Martha's Vineyard.

Besides her husband of sixty-one years, she leaves her  loving children, Miguel S. Almeida of New Bedford, Dimas S. Almeida and his wife, Sheryl, of Somerset, Susan M. Tavares of Fall River, Ilidio S. Almeida and his wife, Sandra, of Pawtucket , Rhode Island, Elda M. Hague of Freetown, and Steven S. Almeida and his wife, Nancy, of Fall River; her eight grandchildren, Jesse Tavares, Rachel Almeida, Nina Almeida, Joshua Hague, Jared Almeida, Katelyn Hague, Noah Almeida, and Aiden Almeida; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Manuel Silva.

Her private funeral was held on Saturday, November 12th, from our Fall River Chapel with Her Funeral Mass being celebrated at Espirito Santo Church in Fall River followed by her committal at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Somerset.
