Maria N. Medeiros, 91, of Fall River, widow of Cristiano R. Medeiros, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Center. Born in Santo Amaro, Velas, São Jorge, Azores, a daughter of the late Davide Pascoal and the late Teodomira da Conceicao Avelar, she emigrated to Fall River in 1978.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed in the local textile industry, at the former Quaker Fabric for over 20 years. Maria enjoyed being a nurturing housewife and homemaker, raising and caring for her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by: ten children, Gridoarda Resendes, Fernando A. Medeiros, Cristiano A. Medeiros, Floriano A. Raposo, Cidalia A. Raposo, Carlos A. Medeiros, Leonilde Frias, Leonardo Medeiros, Luis A. Medeiros, and Olga M. Pacheco; 26 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Emanuel De Medeiros; sister of the late Avelino and Rogerio Avelar Pascoal; and grandmother of the late Nidia A. Raposo and Christopher Resendes.

The family is grateful for the kind support and compassionate care of the staff at Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Center and at Beacon Hospice.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, October 3rd, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
