Maria Nelia Novo, 85, of Fall River and wife of the late Eduardo O. Novo, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at St. Anne's Hospital following a long illness. Born in Ajuda da Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel Raposo and the late Eulalia (Correia) Raposo.

Prior to her retirement, she worked as an inspector in the local textile industry for many years. She loved cooking, baking, and dining out. Maria was always a very kind, patient, and supportive wife, mother, and grandmother. But most notably, Maria's focal point and passion in life was her family and spending quality time with all of them.

She leaves: her children, Alda Botelho-Novo, Leonel Novo, and Joseph Novo, all of Fall River; her granddaughter, Justise Caitlynn Botelho and Taylor Corrin Botelho; her former son-in-law, Randy Botelho; sisters, Emma Lopes (late husband, Jose) of Fall River, and Bibiana Barbosa (late husband, Jorge) of Canada; one brother, Jose Raposo and his wife, Lilliana, of Dartmouth; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Sara Viveiros and the late Isaura Andrade.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, November 26th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
