Maria L. Neto, 82, widow of Francisco R. Neto, of Fall River, died at Charlton Memorial Hospital Thursday after a long illness. Born in St Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Manuel J. & Carlotta (Marreiros) Oliveira, she emigrated to Fall River in 1960. A former co-owner (with her husband) of Acoreana Chourico, she enjoyed cooking, and was great at it, much to her family's delight. Mother of Manuel (wife Christine), Gualberto "Al" (wife Rose), Joseph, Carlos (wife Julie) & Michael Neto, Mary Hedge (husband Ron) and the late Luis Neto & Manuela Neto, she also leaves 14 grandchildren 11 great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, February 24, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
