Maria L. Novo, 89, of Fall River, widow of Francisco Novo, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Kimwell Nursing Home. Born in Remedios Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Antonio Miranda and the late Maria (Soares) Miranda.

She enjoyed cooking, homemaking, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by: three sons, Francisco M. Novo (wife Maria) of No. Dartmouth, Messias Novo (late wife Maria) of Westport, and Januario Novo (wife Olivia) of Westport; two siblings, Maria Arruda and Januario Miranda both of Canada; nine grandchildren, Messias, Vera, Carlos, Joao, Jennifer, Felicia, Monica, Kyle, and Gary; fourteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Maria was also the mother of the late Antonio Novo (wife Teresinha of Fall River). Her siblings Antonio, Francisco, and Aguida predeceased her.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, November 29th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
