Maria P. Raposo, 79, of Fall River, widow of Antonio R. Raposo to whom she was married 56 years, died Saturday 1/28/12 at home after a short illness. Born in St Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Manuel T. & Maria A. (Reis) Pimentel, she emigrated to Fall River in 1967. She worked in the local textile industry for many years, at Shelbourne Shirt, and Bomark, from which she retired in 1994. She enjoyed cooking and gardening, and spending quality time with her grandchildren & great grandchildren. She leaves: 6 children, Vidalia Fernandes, Antonio P. Raposo 'Jr', Gloria Diogo, Tillie Amaral, Natalia Wicklund and Elizabeth Thomas; 5 siblings, Margarida Arruda, Sarina Raposo, Manuel, Jose & Henrique Pimentel; 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, several nieces & nephews. Also sister of the late Leanor Melo & Altina Viveiros. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, February 3, in Espirito Santo Church followed by committal services at Notre Dame Cemetery.
