Maria R. Valerio, 80, of Fall River, widow of Jose C. Valerio, died Monday 1/19/15 at St Anne's Hospital. Born in St Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Manuel & Deolinda (Da Ponte) Sousa, she emigrated to Fall River in 1960. A housekeeper at St. Anne's Hospital for many years, she enjoyed making rosaries, cooking & gardening, and was dedicated to her family. She leaves: 4 sons, Louis (wife Pat), Peter (wife Paula), Jose & Michael (wife Lynn) Valerio; 2 sisters, Albertina Thomas, Isabella Rei; 2 grandchildren, Joey & Nicole; several nieces & nephews. Also mother of the late Lucy Valerio; and sister of the late Peter Leite, Joe & Carlos Sousa. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, January 23, in St Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
