Maria T. (Cabral) Raimundo, age 94, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2012, at the St. Anne's Hospital in Fall River, Massachusetts, following an illness. She was the widow of Jose M. Raimundo, formerly of Orange Street in Fall River. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel T. Cabral and the late Nicolina (Bento) Cabral. Although born in Sao Miguel, she was raised on the island of Terceira and resided there until immigrating to Fall River in 1967. She was employed as a machine operator in the textile trade for many years, manufacturing curtains and drapery at the former Louis Hand. An excellent cook, Maria enjoyed every opportunity to share her skills in the company of her family. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church on Bedford Street in Fall River. Surviving family members include her children, Fernando M. Raimundo and Maria A. Silva, both of Fall River, a brother, Daniel Cabral of Fall River, three sisters; Maria Domingues, Madeline Texeira and Adeline Cordeiro, all of Fall River, four grandchildren; Antonio M. Areias, Fernando M. Areias, Elizabeth Boudria and Jeffrey Raimundo, seven great grandchildren; Anthony M. Areias, Steven T. Areias, Felicia Boudria, Bryan Boudria, Brandon Areias, Sage C. Raimundo and Jessica Silvia, three great great grandchildren; Cameron Areias, Lucia Areias and Benjamin Areias, and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Manuel Cabral, Luiz Cabral, Ezequiel Cabral and Veneranda Sousa. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, May 24, in St Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery on Stafford Road in Fall River.
