Maria E. Raposo, 87, wife of the late John M. Raposo, passed away peacefully in the comforts of her home on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 following a long illness. Born in Ponta Garca, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel de Sousa Pimentel and the late Maria Jose (Monis) Pimentel.

Prior to her retirement she was a sewing machine operator in the local textile industry for many years. She loved cooking, baking, flowers, and traveling, especially pilgrimages through her church, to such places as Germany, Spain, Holland, and Fatima. Most notably, Maria was the "Matriarch" of her family and truly enjoyed spending quality time with all of them.

She leaves her loving son, Dionisio "Danny" Raposo of Fall River; her two sisters, Lucia Pacheco and her husband, Ildeberto, of Fall River, and Maria Jose Salema and her husband, Manuel, of Keene, New Hampshire; one brother, Dionisio de Sousa of Fall River; her sister-in-law, Ermelinda Pimentel of Quebec, Canada; and many nieces, grandnieces, nephews, and grandnephews. She was also the sister of the late Salvador Pimentel, Henrique Pimentel, and Gabriel Pimentel.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, December 2nd, in Santo Christo Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
