Maria E. Rego, 74, of Fall River, widow of Eduardo S. Rego, passed away at home surrounded by family on Saturday, February 5, 2022, after an illness. Born in Pilar da Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late Jose "Vaquinha" DeSousa and the late Maria Conceicao (Medeiros) DeSousa, she emigrated to Fall River in 1990.

She was employed in the local textile industry, at Quaker Fabric for over 16 years – retiring in 2007. Maria volunteered with the St. John's Holy Ghost Association in Fall River. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by: four children, Roland Rego (wife Helen) of Fall River, Alda Rego (husband Donald) of Dartmouth, Nelson Rego (wife Jennifer) of Fall River, and Rui Rego (wife Candice) of Puerto Rico; a sister Alda Pacheco of Fall River; eight grandchildren, Brandon, Brian, Samantha, Makayla, Cesar, Noah, Jonah, and Amalia; and several nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, February 15th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery in Fall River.
