Maria Rosa (Medeiros) Silva, 99, of Fall River, passed Tuesday after a short illness. Widow of Jose Barbosa da Silva. Born in Santa Barbara, Ponta Delgada, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Mariano Inacio Medeiros and Mequelina Reis. She immigrated to this city in 1975. Mother of Maria Amaral, Agueda Fernandes, Eduardo Silva and the late Antero and Jose Silva. She also leaves 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a brother, Gil Inacio Medeiros of Canada. On Friday, December 10, friends and family gathered for a funeral Mass in Espirito Santo Church. After the service, pallbearers Kevin Amaral, Steve Silva, Joe Fernandes, Mike Bertoncini, Ruben Amaral, and Robert Silva brought Maria to her final resting place in St. Patrick Cemetery.
