Maria do Rosaria (Ferreira) Pereira, 75, of Westport (formerly of Quequechan Street in Fall River), passed away Friday morning after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Joao L. "da Couves" Pereira, with whom she shared 47 years of marriage. She was born in Rabo de Peixe, St. Michael, Azores to the late Domingos and Mary do Rosaria Ferreira. She immigrated to the United States in 1966, was a Fall River resident for 52 years, and worked at Shelburne Shirt for over 30 years. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include: daughters Anne Marie Amaral (husband Arthur) of Westport, Madeline C. Rioux (husband Darrin) of Westport, and Natalie Moniz (husband Stephen) of Dartmouth; sons John Pereira, Jr. (wife Dee) and Joseph D. Pereira, all of Westport; brother, Joseph D. Ferreira (wife Esmeralda); grandchildren Justin, Zachary, Sara, Tabitha and Vanessa; and several nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, May 15th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
