Maria de Lourdes Rodrigues Sousa, 92, of Fall River, wife of the late Jose Matias de Sousa, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at home following a brief illness. Born in Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Antonio Pavao Rodrigues and Maria (Mauricio) Rodrigues.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, and donating to others.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. As a devout Catholic, Lourdes faithfully attended Mass and prayed the rosary daily.  What was most important to Lourdes was spending quality time with her family.

She leaves her loving daughter, Maria Lourdes Sousa; her three grandsons, Liam, Keagan, and Devin Sousa Casey; sister, Lee Gomes and  brother, Henrique Rodrigues, both of Fall River; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Antonio Rodrigues, Evaristo Pavao, and Joe Rodrigues.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, January 20th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
