Maria "Gabe" Uticzhungo, 54, of Fall River, wife of Joel Uticzhungo, passed away peacefully at St. Anne's Hospital on Monday, April 20, 2020 after a brief illness.

Born in St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Amelia (Pereira) Carvalho.

Prior to her illness, she worked as a Personal Care Assistant for many years. She loved flowers, dancing, music, especially Elvis, and collecting porcelain dolls. Maria was a fun-loving woman who very much enjoyed spending quality time with all of her family.

Besides her husband, she leaves: her sister, Deolinda DaSilva of Fall River; brothers, Manuel Carvalho and his wife, Bernadette, and Joseph Carvalho and his wife, Lucy, both of Fall River; and many nieces and nephews, including Debbie Pereira, Tanya DaSilva, Felicia DaSilva, and Scott DaSilva, all of whom were like her own children. She was also the sister of the late Silvino Carvalho.

Due to the COVID pandemic, a private funeral was held on Tuesday, April 28th, from our Fall River Chapel followed by her committal service at Oak Grove Cemetery.
