Obituary

Maria "Voi" Medeiros, 81, of North Dighton, wife of the late John Medeiros, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 16, 2022 at St. Anne's Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Agua Retorta, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel Luiz Pereira and the late Maria de Medeiros (Silva) Pereira.

Prior to her retirement she worked as a bookkeeper for her husband's business, J.M. Medeiros and Son Construction, for many years. She loved cooking, baking, sewing, and the ocean. She also enjoyed traveling to Portugal and to her favorite place, Pampano, Florida. But most important to Maria was her family and spending quality time with all of them.

She leaves her loving son, John M. Medeiros, Jr. of North Dighton; her three grandchildren, Tara Medeiros, John Medeiros and his wife, Lauren, and Lauren Medeiros; three great-grandchildren, Isabel Medeiros, Sophie Medeiros, and Aidan Campos; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Louis Pereira, Norbert Pereira, and Delores Silva.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, May 21st, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal and entombment at the Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum both in Fall River.
