Mariana Carvalho, 93, of Fall River, wife of the late Manuel Carvalho, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 20, 2020 at the Catholic Memorial Home after a brief illness.

Born in Pilar, Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Mary Martin.

Prior to retirement, she was presser in the local garment industry for many years. A devout Catholic, Mariana was very involved in the activities of her church and also a member of its Woman's Guild. But what was most important to her was spending quality time with her family, especially her grandson and great-grandsons.

She leaves: her loving son, David and his wife, Diane, of Assonet; grandson, Bradford Carvalho and his wife, Marcie, of Colorado and her late granddaughter, Candace Marie Carvalho; two great-grandsons, Landon Carvalho and Parker Carvalho; one brother, John Martin and his wife, Hilda, of Connecticut; two sisters, Mary Araujo and her husband, Edward, and Victoria Camara (late husband, John), both of Somerset; and many nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, January 25th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
