Mariana D. Ferreira, 89, of Fall River, widow of Luis S. Ferreira, died Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born in Santa Barbara, St. Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Antonio & Maria do Carmo (Arruda) Barbosa, she emigrated to Fall River 1972. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed traveling. Survivors include: 7 children, Antonio & Jose Ferreira, Hilda Barreira, Teresa Homen, Maria Lima, Marcia Estacio and Lucia Ferreira, all of Fall River; 1 sister, Maria da Luz Pavao of Fall River; 28 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 6 great, great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was also sister of the late Maria Nunes, Jose, Joao & Luis Arruda, Maria do Carmo Carlos, Isabel Carvalho and Hilda Ponte. Her funeral Mass was celebrated in Espirito Santo Church. Her committal service was held at St Patrick Cemetery.
