Mariana M. Pedro, 86, widow of Antonio Pedro, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Kimwell Health Care, Fall River. Born in Remedios Bretanha, on the island of St. Michael, in the Azores, she was a daughter of the late Joao Moreira and the late Maria (Cordeiro) Moreira.

A resident of Fall River since 1951, she worked for many years in the local garment industry, at Shelburne Shirt and Whaling Manufacturing. Known for her loving desire to help others in need, Mariana was amazingly generous, and a strongly independent woman, who loved spending time with her family. She will be forever remembered and missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by: two children, Natalie Diogo (husband Jaime) of Plymouth, MA, and Antonio Pedro Jr (wife Maria) of Fall River; four siblings, Manuel Moreira of Fall River, Hilda Viveiros of Fall River, Dimas Moreira of Fall River, and Mary Cabral of Tiverton, RI; two granddaughters (for whom she had undying love), Jennifer & Casandra; two great grandchildren, Ben & Rylie; and several nieces & nephews. She was also a sister of the late Mary Viveiros and the late Helena Pereira.

The family wishes to express their Heartfelt Thanks to the Kimwell Health and Compassionate Care Hospice staff for all the comforting care provided to Mariana.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, December 22nd, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
