Mariana Raposo, 77, of Fall River, widow of Manuel Raposo, died Tuesday 2/17/15 at home after an illness. Born in Ajuda Bretanha, St Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Luis & Conceicao (Arruda) Faria, she emigrated to Fall River in 1974, and had worked for many years at Whaling Mfg. Mother of Fatima Medeiros (husband Carlos) & Joe Raposo (wife Linda) both of Fall River, Ramiro Raposo (wife Delia) & Mariana Sousa (husband Mario) both of Assonet. Sister of Antonio Faria & Lourdes Soares both of Fall River, Alda DeMelo of Westport, Teresa Furtado of Tiverton, Jose Faria of Dartmouth, Manuela DeMelo of Swansea. She also leaves 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, many nieces & nephews. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, February 21, in St Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
