Marianita C. "Nita" Murphy, age 46, of Warwick, Rhode Island, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Kent Hospital in Warwick. She was the beloved wife of the late Leo C. "Chip" Murphy, III. Born in Tondo, Manila, on the Philippine island Luzon, she was a daughter of Carmen B. (Canlas) Maynard and E. Joseph Maynard, Jr. of Belize. A resident of Warwick since 2000, she was employed for many years as an IT Systems Consultant. Nita was a parishioner of St. Peter's Church in Warwick and an active member of the Warwick YMCA where she enjoyed the pool and various programs with her four children. She will be remembered as a loving mother who adored her children: the eldest, Patrick Ian Conrad Murphy, her twins, Leonita Madeline Murphy and Justina Lucia Murphy, and the youngest, Anthony Joseph Leo Murphy. She also leaves a brother, David M. Maynard of West Greenwich, RI, a sister, Maria T. Duclos of Tempe, Arizona, four nieces and two nephews. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, March 11, at St. Peter's Church in Warwick followed by a commital service on Saturday, March 12th, at Block Island Cemtery in New Shoreham. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to the Leo C. Murphy III Trust. In January 2010, the Trust was established in memory of Nita's husband, for the benefit of their children.
