Marie E. Charette, of Colfax St., entered into heaven at home beside her children. She ascended to her meeting place to join the angels and her husband, Francis "Butch" Charette and her parents, Serafim and Mary Furtado. She was mother of Karen M. and Michael P. Charette; grandmother of Kristy Lee and Michael Francis Charette; sister of Sarah Nogueira (husband-Frank) and Godmother of Steven Nogueira. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. She was the owner of Marie Hair Designs for over 35 years. President of the Fall River Emblem Club #29, she was also a member of the Newport County Pomona Grange, Nanaquaket Grange of Tiverton and the Massachusetts Association of Cosmetologists. Active in politics, she worked the polls at Oak Village. Extremely religious, Marie was very talented in decorating, ceramics, sewing and gardening. She also enjoyed attending Emblem Club conventions. She will be missed by her family and friends for her outgoing personality and presence. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday (1/30) in Sacred Heart Church followed by a committal service at St. Patrick Cemetery. Her pallbearers were Michael, John and Roland Charette, Steve and Randy Nogueira and John Darcy.
