Obituary

Marie Jordan, 87, of Tiverton, RI, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Crestwood Nursing and Rehabilitation of Warren, RI. Born in Cranston, RI, she was a daughter of the late Pasquale DeFusco and the late Lucy (DePlacito) DeFusco.

Owner of K & D Jewelry throughout most of her life, Marie always enjoyed getting to know her customers; and she developed and maintained friendships with many of them over the years. Marie was an avid cook and was able to showcase her talents while working at the Stop & Shop bakery, where she worked for a while after retiring from the jewelry business. She was also a lifetime member of the VFW.

There was never a time one would visit her home and not have the pleasure of a home cooked meal. Marie shared meals with neighbors, co-workers, family and friends all the time. One could not know Marie and not have experienced something from one of her many Italian recipes.

Marie loved art and found peace in painting. Her family will cherish her work. There are years of paintings, which include portraits of loved ones, outdoor scenery and several lighthouse images.

Marie's daughters were her prime motivation. Despite obstacles and tragedy, Marie always persevered with strength and courage.

She is survived by: a daughter, Dawn Jordan of Tiverton, RI; two grandsons, Glenn P. Rapoza and Sean Rapoza; three great grandchildren, Chase Rapoza, Bryce Rapoza, and Emersyn Rapoza; and many nieces & nephews. Marie was also the mother of the late Kimberly Rapoza, and sister of the late Dorothy "Dolly" Brilhante, Pasquale "Pat" DeFusco, Jr., and Robert DeFusco.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, August 5th, at St Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery both in Fall River. In lieu of flowers, and in grateful recognition of their having provided fostering for both of Marie's beloved beagles, Charlie & Sammy, please consider making a donation in Marie's memory to Animal Rescue League of Fall River dba Faxon Animal Care & Adoption Center, 474 Durfee St, Fall River, MA 02720; 508-676-1061; http://arlfr.com/donations.
