Marie Larner, 83, of Swansea, widow of Raymond Larner, Sr., passed away on Sunday at Catholic Memorial Home. In 1989 Marie was one of the first 100 recipients in the world to receive a heart transplant. She enjoyed crocheting, loved playing Canasta and always enjoyed a good Scrabble game. Marie had a sincere passion for her family instilling lifetime values in each of them. She especially enjoyed spending time with her "boys", her great-grandsons Andrew, Hudson, David and Elias. Born in Newark, New Jersey she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Hollek) DeFalco. She leaves her daughter Debra De Costa (husband-Michael) of Swansea; her son Raymond Larner, Jr. of Westport; granddaughters Andrea Machado and Valerie Hill. Marie was also the mother of the late Timothy Larner.  Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, January 14th, in St. Dominic's Church, Swansea followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery in Fall River.
