Obituary

Marie Natalie Tamborella, 91, of Fall River, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, peacefully surrounded by her family. She was married for 63 years to the late Michael Tamborella.  Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Col. Henry and Maria N. (Quintal) Butler, and the late Norbert F. Coutinho.  She lived in Fall River most of her life.

Prior to her retirement, she worked as a seamstress in the local textile industry for many years and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union (ILGWU, now called UNITE). Marie then enjoyed employment for several years as a cafeteria worker in the Fall River school system.

Active in her former parish, the former St. William Church, she and her husband were also members of the "Life in the Spirit" program at St. John of God Church. An excellent cook and baker, Marie enjoyed preparing meals for family and friends. She loved children, animals, gardening; and her family was her life.

She is survived by: two daughters, Cynthia Lee Ferreira (husband Manuel) of Swansea and Lisa Anne Chouinard (husband Ronald) of Lakeville; two siblings, Patricia C. Pamatian of Casselberry, Florida, and Henry Wayne Butler of Pearland, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. She was also a sister of the late Nobert F. Coutinho Jr. and Cynthia Smith.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, December 23rd, in Holy Trinity Parish Church followed by her committal and entombment at the Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in Natalie's memory to the Alzheimer's Association ( Alzheimer's Association MA/NH Chapter, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA 02452; 800-272-3900; https://www.alz.org/ ) or an organization which supports the welfare of children or animals.
