Mario A. Castro, 85, of Fall River, husband of the late Deolinda (Carvalho) Castro, died Friday 4/15/16 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Cerva, Portugal, son of the late Manuel & Rosa (Fraga) Castro, he emigrated to Fall River in 1971, and was employed as a foremen with Quaker Fabric for many years. He was a huge soccer fan and also enjoyed gardening, cooking and wine-making, as well as playing cards and keeping up with friends on Facebook. He leaves: 6 children, Maria I. Cadman (husband Kenneth) of Norwell, Rosa Castro-Krawiec (husband Kevin) of Scituate, MA, John Castro (wife Kathy) of Attleboro, Alcino Castro (wife Nancy) of Assonet, Joseph Castro (wife Maria) and Alvaro Castro, both of Fall River; a sister, Irene Goes; 8 grandchildren; a great grandson; several nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, April 21st, in Santo Christo Church followed by his committal at Oak Grove Cemetery.
