Martha C. Elias, 88, of Somerset, formerly of Fall River & Swansea, widow of George Elias, died Friday 7/11/14 at Somerset Ridge Nursing & Rehab. Born in Mississippi, daughter of the late Hiram & Helen (Freshow) Allison, she lived in Fall River most of her life, more recently in Swansea for 12 years, having resided in Somerset only for the past 8 months. She was employed in the local textile industry for many years, retiring in 1991, and was a member of the ILGWU (now UNITE). She leaves: 3 children, Sandra Soares (husband Eduardo) of Swansea, George Elias (wife Janice) of Appleton, WI, and Gary Elias (wife Esther) of Rutherford, NJ; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by 8 siblings. The family thanks the staff of Somerset Ridge, in grateful appreciation for their loving care. Funeral with Silva-Faria Funeral Home was private.
