Mary
Araujo
d. Jun 15, 2023
Mary Araujo, age 92, of East Providence, RI, wife of the late Joseph Araujo, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2023. Mary was born and spent most of her life in Fall River, and was a daughter of the late Augustine Ferry, and Mary Gloria (Furtado) Ferry.
Mary had a full life here on earth and is now reunited with the love of her life, her husband of 40 years, in Heaven. The passion for her late husband was always held in her heart. She fondly shared stories about the wonderful life they shared. "Oh, the dancing and romancing" she would say. Mary had all the love in the world with her small family. She is survived by her only son, Thomas Araujo; the other half of her big heart. It's hard to just pick only a few things to say about Mary; she was a remarkable women. Her kindness and laughter were infectious to everyone around her. She used her endless creativity as an extension of her benevolence. Whether it was sewing, drawing or knitting; she always left a little piece of her in her artwork. When you received a card or note from her, there was always a picture drawn in it to make you smile and feel loved. When meeting Mary, if you didn't know she worked as a Teachers Aid for Wixon Elementary School in Fall River; you would have thought she had many children. The way she spoke so loving and highly of them all.
Through her kind words and light hearted spirit, she has left her family a gift that will last a lifetime; wonderful memories.
She was the loving mother of Thomas Araujo of Warwick, RI and Daughter in-law Catherine Anderson-Araujo. She has two beautiful grand-daughters Sarah Araujo and Lindsey Araujo. She leaves her two sisters and best friends, Lorraine Raymond and brother in-law Ronald Raymond of Rehoboth, MA; Helen Hiotelis and brother in-law Peter Hiotelis of Somerset, MA; along with 4 beloved nieces and nephews.
Her funeral arrangements were private.
