Mary (Furtado) Bettencourt, 87, of Fall River, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2010 unexpectedly. Widow of Manuel N. Bettencourt. Born in Fall River and a lifelong resident, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Tavares) Furtado. She was a retired sewing machine operator. She was a former member of the Women's Guild at St. Anthony of Padua Church. She was the beloved mother of Charles M. Bettencourt (wife – Brenda), Ronald J. Bettencourt and Ann Marie Aguiar (husband – Bill); sister of Charles Furtado (wife – Eva) and the late Leonora Resendes (husband – Jeremias). She also leaves 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Her funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Anthony of Padua Church. She was laid to rest at Notre Dame Cemetery.
