Mary Stella (Castigliego) D'Alessio, age 93, of Bristol, Rhode Island, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2012, at the Grand Islander Nursing Center in Middletown, Rhode Island, following an illness. She was the widow of John Joseph D'Alessio, Sr. Born in Bristol, she was a daughter of the late Gaetano Castigliego and the late Anna (Armillotto) Castigliego. A lifelong resident of Bristol, Rhode Island, she worked at Raytheon in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, for nineteen years until her retirement in 1980, and had also worked at U. S. Rubber in Bristol for several years prior to her employment at Raytheon. Mary was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bristol and was an avid bingo player. She also enjoyed cooking, shopping, and spending time in the company of her family. Surviving family members include her son and daughter-in-law John & Elizabeth D'Alessio of Bristol, her daughter, Annette Lamora of Rumford, Rhode Island, three grandchildren, Laurieann Chilcot and Tricia Rego, both of Bristol, and Joseph Lamora of Bradenton, Florida, five great grandchildren, Ryan Chilcot of Bristol, and Aaron, Ethan, Joshua and Zachary Lamora, all of Bradenton. She was also the grandmother of the late Traci Lamora and sister of the late Nicholas Castigliego, Suzy Arcello, Lucy Scolaro, Anna Reynolds, Nancy Dubord and Pauline Boyd. Following her cremation, Her Memorial Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol, Rhode Island followed by her internment with her husband, John, at St. Mary's Cemetery also in Bristol.
