Mary (Rezendes) Estrella, 96, of Fall River, widow of Arthur J. Estrella, died on January 25, 2010 at Highlander Rehab & Nursing Ctr. Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Joseph & Franicia (Duarte) Rezendes, she was a lifelong resident of Fall River. Employed in the local textile industry, she retired from Center Garment in 1975 after working there for 28 years and was a member of the ILGWU (now UNITE). Survivors include: 3 children, Arthur P. Estrella (wife-Denise) of Westport, William J. Estrella (wife-Betty) of Homosassa, FL and Joyce Scholes (husband-Tom) of Fall River; a sister, Ethel Assad of So. Pasadena, FL; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, several nieces & nephews. She was also sister of the late Sil & Manuel Rezendes, Diane Roderigues and Olive Ufferman. Her funeral Mass was celebrated in St Anthony of Padua Church. Pallbearers Eric Thomas, Bill Estrella, Dave and Justin Vannier and Tom Cordeiro brought Mary to her final resting place in Newport Memorial Park.
