Mary Fernanda (Pacheco Brazil) Andrade, 76, formerly of Orange Street in Fall River, died Tuesday at the Southpointe Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center in Fall River, following an extended illness. Born in the village of Furnas, on the island of Sao Miguel in the Azores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel de Sousa Brazil and the late Mariana (Pacheco Jacob) de Sousa Brazil. After residing in the Azores for twenty years, she immigrated to Fall River in 1951. She was employed as an inspector at the former Louis Hand Company for many years. Mary was a communicant at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Fall River. Family members include a nephew, Alfred Brazil of Bristol, Rhode Island, a niece, Mrs. Luciano (Elizabeth) Lima & her children of Bangor, Maine, and her cousins Ida Santos, Olivia Santos, Natalie Santos and Evelyn Martin, all of Fall River. She was also the sister of the late Manuel Sousa and the late Alfred Pacheco Brazil. Funeral was held Friday (9/28) from Silva-Faria Funeral Home followed by her funeral mass in St Anthony of Padua Church. Fr. Brian Albino was the celebrant. Interment was in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
