Mary Jo Ferreira, 61, of Fall River, widow of Carlos A. Ferreira, passed away at home unexpectedly on Saturday, September 28, 2024. Born in Agua Retorta, St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late Luiz Resendes and the late Filomena (Aguiar) Resendes, she emigrated to Fall River in 1967.

Employed as a seamstress at Precision Sportswear for about 15 years, Mary Jo then worked as a manager at Marzilli's Bakery for about ten years. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, arts & crafts, and the companionship of her dog, Lily. Mary Jo loved spending quality time with family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by: two children, Melinda Costa (husband Jose) of Fall River and Michelle Cordeiro (husband Joao) of Dartmouth; three siblings, Clotilde Mota, Leovigilda Leite, and Olga Costa; three grandchildren, Laura Costa, Aliyah Cordeiro, and Lucas Cordeiro; and several nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, October 4th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
