Mary L. Medeiros, 93, of Beattie St., passed away on January 18, 2010. Widow of Manuel DeMedeiros. Born in Mosteiros, St. Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Jose & Maria Candida (Dias) Ricardo. She moved to Fall River in 1960 and was employed by Stafford Garments and Cherry Dress Co. Mary was known for her kindness, generosity and sense of humor. She treasured time spent with her family and especially enjoyed the daily visits from her devoted granddaughters, Christine and Jennifer. An active parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church, she was a CCD teacher, member of the Women's Guild and served as Eucharistic Minister at Charlton Memorial Hospital and Crawford Nursing Home. Survivors include a daughter, Palmira Santos (husband Agostinho); sons, Carlos Medeiros (wife Madalena), Manuel J. Medeiros (wife Lilliana) and Joseph DeMedeiros (wife Patricia); a brother, Jose Ricardo; grandchildren, Christine (Santos) Powers, Jennifer Santos, Paul and Richard Santos, Lucie Batista, Elizabeth, Carlos and Anna Medeiros and Timothy DeMedeiros; 14 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also sister of the late Maria Pacheco, Maria dos Anjos Sequira, Manuel Ricardo and Luis Ricardo. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Anthony of Padua Church. Pallbearers Paul and Richard Santos, Timothy DeMedeiros, Scott Powers, Derek Arrda and Luis Medeiros brought Mary to her final resting place at St. Patrick Cemetery.
