Mary Isabel Martin passed away, reluctantly, in her 100 ^th year, on Monday, June 12, 2017, at home. Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Jesse & Mary (Taveira) Martin, she had worked at Auerbach Bathrobe almost 30 years and later worked at the Fall River Housing Authority about 13 years before retiring in 1982.

A true matriarch from birth, she was the boss of her clan and beyond; and her strength of will and inimitable spirit will be sorely missed. Surviving her are: two sisters, Louise M. Iadicola and Virginia Grinnell, both of Fall River; and 7 nieces & nephews, Cynthia Marlowe of Conroe, TX, Lynn Iadicola of Fall River, Kenneth M. Grinnell of Fall River, Kim Costa of Auburn, ME, Patricia Styles of Exeter, NH, Jesse J. Martin of Malden, MA, and Robert J. Martin of Fall River. She was also a sister of the late Jesse R. Martin and Irene "Marty" Martin; aunt of the late Christine Martin-Santos; and longtime friend of the late Adela Girard.

According to Mary's wishes, her cremains were only recently interred at Notre Dame Cemetery – as she had said, please "don't put me in the ground until I'm one hundred years old."
Following her burial, a memorial mass was celebrated on Saturday, May 12th, in Holy Trinity Parish Church.
