Obituary

Mary Patricia "Pat" Medeiros, 97, of Somerset, widow of Alfred V. Medeiros, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026, at Clifton Rehab and Nursing Center, where she had resided for the past year and a half.  Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late and beloved Stephen L. Silvia and Mary C. (Coute) Silvia.

Pat was first and foremost a devoted wife and mother who took great pride in her home and family.  Love was the guiding force of her life.  She loved warmly, generously, and unconditionally, and her family felt that love every day.

A longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Church, Pat was also a former member of the Morning Glories prayer group at St. John of God Parish.  She treasured her faith communities and the companionship of her circle of friends at North Farms Senior Estates where she lived for 5 years.

Pat was the beloved mother of Patricia Silva and her husband, Joe, of Venice, Florida, Michael Medeiros and his wife, Karen, of Chuluota, Florida, and James Medeiros and his partner, Bruce, of Boston.  She was the cherished grandmother of Katy Stafford and her husband, Tom, Lizz Silva, and Michael and Stephen Medeiros.  She was the proud great-grandmother of the "Fabulous Four," Emma, Sophie, Keegan, and Molly Sullivan.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Beatrice S. Correa.  She also leaves a special niece, JoAnne Meehan, and several other nieces and nephews.

Her family extends heartfelt thanks to all the nurses and staff at Clifton West 2 and to Hanover Hospice for their devoted care and compassionate support.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Funeral Mass to be offered on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Church, South Street, Somerset.  A private committal service and interment of cremains will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, Somerset.
