Mary Lucy Nunes, 77, of Fall River, wife of John M. Nunes Sr., died at Charlton Memorial Hospital on Apr. 2, 2008, after a long illness. Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Joseph & Mariana (Raposa) Miranda, she resided in Fall River most of her life. Employed in the local textile industry for many years, she retired from Harlee Mfg in 1993 and was a member of ACTWU (now UNITE). She was also a parent worker for 7 years with the Fall River School System's Magnet Program. Active in her parish, she was a member of the Espirito Santo Church Ladies Guild. Besides her husband of 52 years, survivors include: sons, John M. Nunes Jr. of Swansea, Jason Nunes of Cranston RI; daughters, Rebecca St. Pierre of Fall River, Rachel DeBrum of Rehoboth; sister, Dina Margarida of Westport; grandchildren, Julie, Laura, Jocelyn & Adam Nunes, Angela & Luke St. Pierre, Josef & Miranda DeBrum; several nieces and nephews. She was also sister of the late Manuel Miranda and Mary Aguiar. Family and Friends gathered in Espirito Santo Church for her funeral Mass. She was laid to rest at St. Patrick Cemetery.
